Majid Shafiq

Managing Partner

Majid Shafiq holds the position of Managing Partner at Whitefield’s Solicitors, a role he has undertaken since the inception of the firm in 2008. Majid qualified as a Solicitor in 2001 and post-qualification, he has directed his focus towards specialising in various aspects of property law, establishing himself as a seasoned advisor in both residential and commercial property transactions.

Building a diverse client base, Majid represents individuals seeking to acquire residential properties to companies acquiring and disposing of business premises. He also has a sound understanding of Commercial Leases and has a large Landlord client base. Some noteworthy recent instructions include advising a development company on development obligations, acquisition of a care home facility and assisting charity organisations in acquiring premises for charitable purposes.

Majid takes pride in offering comprehensive information to his clients, ensuring they are well-informed on all aspects of their case.

During his leisure time, he enjoys family moments and indulges in cricket.

Saqib Malik


Saqib Malik has been a Partner at Whitefield’s Solicitors since the firm’s establishment. He specialises in residential and commercial conveyancing transactions as well as wills and probate matters.

Saqib qualified as a Solicitor in 2007, specialising initially in residential property during his training. However, his inclination towards advising private clients grew over time and he has advanced knowledge in Will drafting, including Islamic shariah compliant wills. He also represents clients in both straightforward and non-contentious probate matters in addition to managing the department.

In regard to Conveyancing matters, Saqib represents clients ranging from individuals in residential house/flat transactions to more complex projects including acting for developers and property investors including high net-worth individuals who often rely on commercial funding. In addition, Saqib has dealt with a number of enfranchisement matters acting for a group of clients who were leaseholders in the acquisition of their freehold title. Saqib also has extensive experience in dealing with Islamic finance transactions.

Saqib’s effective communication, interpersonal skills, and strong community ties have contributed significantly to expanding the firm’s client base. Outside of work, he dedicates time to his family and engages in community service, providing free legal advice to charitable organisations.

Shafiq Suleman


Shafiq Suleman is a Partner at Whitefield’s Solicitors. He specialises in Criminal Law and Litigation matters. He became a qualified Solicitor in 2008 following the successful completion of his legal training and represents clients at police stations and magistrates’ courts in London and its surrounding areas.

In his spare time Shafiq enjoys playing cricket and spending time with his family.

Alec Jose

Consultant Solicitor

As a Consultant Solicitor, Alec Jose has accumulated extensive experience in handling private client affairs, including wills and probate, as well as property matters involving both commercial and residential aspects. His work has also extended to commercial matters, specifically in business and company sales and acquisitions.
Qualifying as a Solicitor in 1981, Alec has been situated in East London since 1997, having previously worked in the West End. Throughout his career, he has represented a diverse array of clients from various communities and backgrounds, consistently delivering a personal and tailored service to each individual.

Forid Ahmed

Consultant Solicitor

Forid Ahmed is a Consultant at Whitefield’s Solicitors. Qualifying as a Solicitor in 2002, Forid has over 20 years of experience in dealing with varied property transactions.

He specialises in Commercial Property, including Commercial Leases, Development Purchases and Bridging Finance transactions. His experience covers both basic and complex property transactions.

Forid was running his own practice prior to setting up his consultancy and is able to implement his business acumen in making transactions run smoothly or to deal with issues in a pragmatic and conciliatory manner to achieve the best outcome for his clients.

His clients include Companies, High Net Worth Individuals, Landlords and Tenants and Private Lenders.

Forid is regularly expanding his portfolio of clients, due to his business connections and proactive approach to generating business and knowledge of the areas he deals with, which further provide confidence to the clients he services.

Forid is involved in community projects and enjoys doing as much as he can for different charitable causes and keeping up with current affairs.

Memoona Nazir


Memoona Nazir earned her LLB Honours degree from Kings College London in 2005, and following several years of working as a Paralegal, she pursued her postgraduate studies. She excelled in the Legal Practice Course and subsequently became a qualified Solicitor in 2014 after the successful completion of her training contract.

Memoona specialises in residential and commercial conveyancing. She handles various aspects of conveyancing, including freehold and leasehold acquisitions, re-mortgages, new leases and transfers of equity. Her expertise also extends to bridging and development finance, auction properties and dealing with high net worth clients. Most notably she has represented clients in the procurement of development sites, acquisition of guest houses and in the purchase of a shopping mall. She takes pride in delivering a prompt, personalised, and high quality service to her clients.

Memoona is fluent in English, Urdu and Punjabi.

Jessica Glazier


Jess Glazier became a valuable member of our Conveyancing department in 2023. She earned her Law degree from Nottingham Trent University and successfully completed the Legal Practice Course at Nottingham University. Jess obtained her Solicitor qualification in Ireland in 2014 and was officially admitted to the roll of Solicitors in 2016.

With a specialisation in residential Conveyancing, Jess possesses comprehensive knowledge of all related aspects. Recognising the importance of property transactions, she embraces a client-centric philosophy, aiming to ensure a stress free journey tailored to the unique needs of each client.

Omar Sharif


Omar Sharif is a Solicitor at Whitefield’s. He joined as a paralegal in 2013 and qualified as a Solicitor in 2018.
Omar graduated from London South Bank University in 2013 and completed the Legal Practice Course at London Metropolitan University in 2017. He specialises in all aspects of Residential Property including sales and purchases, re-mortgages, transfer of equity, auctions and Islamic finance matters.
Omar has a pro-active approach to conveyancing, keeping clients thoroughly informed throughout the transaction.  
Besides law, Omar is a keen animal lover and proud owner of multiple parrots and parakeets. Omar also enjoys painting and reading in his spare time. Proficient in both English and Urdu, Omar is also in the process of learning Arabic.

Veena Maisuria


Veena Maisuria has been working in our Conveyancing department since 2018. Veena deals with residential sales, purchases, and re-mortgages.

Veena qualified as a Solicitor in 2022. She graduated with an LLB Law degree from Westminster University and successfully completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law.

Sadaf Azam


Sadaf Azam achieved her Solicitor qualification in 2023 and has been working in our Conveyancing department ever since.

Sadaf earned her Law degree from the De Montfort University and furthered her studies by successfully completing the Legal Practice Course.

Sadaf has gained experience in both residential and commercial property transactions, whilst having a keen interest in complex lender and property finance transactions.

Nadia Ali

Senior Immigration Advisor

As a Senior Immigration Advisor, Nadia Ali is widely acclaimed as a leading Immigration specialist, with more than 20 years’ experience. She joined Whitefield’s Solicitors over 10 years ago with years of experience. She has impeccable expertise in Human Rights matters involving human rights and private family life issues.  She is well known in the Asian communities because of her past experience in the UK and her office in India and Pakistan. 

Nadia has regularly appeared on Punjab Radio in a weekly immigration advice show.

She has vast experience in advising clients on applications across all the categories of the Points Based System as well as Appendix FM cases, visit visas, applications under the EEA Regulations, Appendix EU, and applications for naturalisation.

Nadia has the expertise in tackling complex matters concerning applications that fall outside of the immigration rules. She is recognised for advising individuals with complex UK immigration history or unusual circumstances by providing clear advice on process and effectively outlining options. She further advises on all aspects of naturalisation and citizenship registration applications, as well as applications for entry clearance, leave to remain and indefinite leave to remain under various categories of the Immigration Rules.

Nadia also prepares the Sponsor Licence applications, as well as the Skilled Worker applications.
She also gained experience in preparation of challenging application refusals and preparing appeals to the UK Immigration Tribunals with a high success rate. 

Tanzila Ahmed


Tanzila Ahmed joined Whitefield’s Solicitors in 2015, starting as an Immigration assistant she progressed to the role of a Paralegal. With her extensive experience in Immigration law, she swiftly integrated into the team and assumed a senior role in the casework and appeals department. Prior to joining, she gained valuable experience with reputable Solicitors.

Since joining Tanzila assists with the appeals against the ECO and Secretary of State and prepares the appellants appeals before the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal. She also assists in the preparation of Immigration applications submitted to the Home Office

Tanzila is known for her resilience under pressure, consistently meeting deadlines she excels in collaborative team environments and is a valuable asset to the firm.

Tanzila holds an LLB Honours degree and has successfully completed the Legal Practice Course.

Languages; fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.

Usman Saleem Raja

Immigration Assistant

Usman Saleem Raja holds the position of an Immigration Assistant at Whitefield’s Solicitors, boasting over a decade long tenure with the firm. His casework predominantly revolves around the submission of applications to the Home Office.

Furzana Yasmin Alvi


Furzana Yasmin Alvi joined Whitefield’s Solicitors in 2010 as a Legal Assistant. She later transitioned to the Conveyancing department, initially serving as a Post Completion Clerk before progressing to the role of a Paralegal.

Presently, Furzana is tasked with assisting with a diverse range of property transactions from inception to completion such as sales, purchases, re-mortgages, transfer of equity, and lease extension matters. Her efficiency and meticulousness in these transactions guarantees our clients experience the utmost levels of service.

Tatenda Dzimwasha


Tatenda Dzimwasha works as a Paralegal in the Conveyancing department. Having obtained a Law degree from Coventry University in 2021, he is currently advancing through his CLC course with the aim of becoming a Licensed Conveyancer.

Amal Aftab


Amal Aftab works as a Paralegal at Whitefield’s, and she is presently employed in the firms Conveyancing department.

Prior to joining Whitefield’s Amal was a Paralegal in Real Estate Finance and Residential Property at a central London law firm. In this role she supported Partners and fee earners with residential property transactions from instruction to completion, along with handling the post-completion formalities.

Amal read Law at City University of London and successfully completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School in July 2022.

Elaine Pinnock-Rose

Reception and Secretarial

My name is Elaine Pinnock-Rose. I have been employed as a Receptionist at Whitefield’s Solicitors since July 2013. 
Previous to my employment commencing with Whitefield’s Solicitors, I was employed as a Legal Secretary with Barlow Lyde & Gilbert in the City for a period of 11 years and following that period with RMPI Solicitors LLP in Mayfair for a period of 10 years.
My duties involve meeting and greeting clients in a courteous and friendly manner; answering the telephone; directing calls as appropriate; taking messages from clients, Solicitors, Estate Agents (to name but a few); and emailing these to the relevant fee earners, dealing with incoming and outgoing posts.  The opening of files when new instructions are received and inputting accurately the relevant information required. 

My position, even though, busy at times, is to me when all things are considered, a very satisfying and enjoyable one.


Chief Comfort Officer

Despite only being with us for a short time, Muezza has clawed his way up the ranks to a senior position within our firm.

A graduate of the prestigious Feline School of Law & Specialist in Purr-chases, Muezza is known for his calm and serene nature. Muezza ensures that every document is properly paw-tected. When he’s not napping on important files or purr-using through legal documents, Muezza enjoys a good chin scratch and a hearty meal, making him the purr-fect addition to our conveyancing team!
